SME PROGRAMME

In May 1998, Ukreximbank and Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW) entered into the Loan Facility (SME Programme 1) aimed at providing financial support to Ukrainian small and medium sized enterprises.

The agreement envisaged medium and long-term loans for investment projects to small and medium private business by direct sub-loans or sub-loans channeled via other Ukrainian banks.

Total amount of credit line was DEM 30 million (USD 15.34 million).

In 2008, New Loan Agreement (SME Programme 2) in the amount of USD 40.0 million was signed.

The Programme aimed at financing SME projects for modernization of production facilities, expansion of business activity, through acquisition of edifices and buildings, equipment and outfit, construction and transportation facilities, as well as financing of working capital of SME.

The facility was drawn down in full by end-2014.
