Education:

2006 – 2008 Central European University, Budapest, Hungary. Master's degree in economics.

2001 – 2005 National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", Kyiv, Ukraine. Bachelor's degree in economics and entrepreneurship.

Background:

Immediately after finishing his studies, Yuriy Butsa began working at The National Securities and Stock Market Commission. After returning from Hungary in 2008, he assumed the position of deputy director of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Representative Office, where he dealt with issues of attracting capital for Ukrainian companies.

Since 2010, Yuriy Butsa worked as a coordinator at the Coordination Center for Economic Reforms, where he accompanied the development of legislation on improving corporate governance in joint-stock companies, introducing new instruments on the financial market, improving the functioning of the banking sector and improving the business climate.

Since 2015, Yuriy Butsa has held the position of Member of The National Securities and Stock Market Commission, where, in particular, he dealt with issues of corporate governance and corporate finance, incorporation of the EU directives into Ukrainian legislation, and improvement of the functioning of stock market instruments.

Since 5 May 2016, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine for European Integration.

On 26 July 2018, by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, Yuriy Butsa was dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister of Finance for European Integration and appointed to the position of Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management.

Appointed to a position of a member of the Supervisory Board of "Ukreximbank" JSC since June 2019.
