Viktor Ponomarenko has more than 25 years of professional experience in the Ukrainian banking sector.

His extensive managerial background includes serving as the Chairman of the Management Board of ProCredit Bank JSC, part of ProCredit Holding (Germany), a position he held from 2012 to 2024. During this period, he oversaw the bank’s strategic development and operational management.

Mr. Ponomarenko earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the A. B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University (USA) in 2002. He also holds a degree from Kyiv National Economic University (1997). In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

In May 2024, the Supervisory Board of Ukreximbank JSC selected Viktor Ponomarenko as the winner of the competitive selection for the position of Chairman of the Management Board. On 18 June 2024, the National Bank of Ukraine approved his candidacy, and on 1 July 2024, Viktor Ponomarenko officially assumed office as Chairman of the Management Board of Ukreximbank.
