New EBRD Tranche for Ukreximbank: €50 Million to Support Business Resilience and SMEs

06/07/2026

“Ukreximbank” JSC continues to deepen its cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). On June 26 in Gdańsk, the parties signed a Commitment Notice for the second tranche of a risk-sharing instrument under the Resilience and Livelihoods Programme in the amount of €50 million.

Earlier, in October 2025, Ukreximbank and the EBRD entered into a Framework Agreement on participation in risk sharing, under which they signed a Commitment Notice for a portfolio risk-sharing mechanism totaling €50 million, almost all of which has now been fully utilized.

The risk-sharing instrument is provided under two strategically important EBRD programmes aimed at supporting the Ukrainian economy.

The total limit of the mechanism amounts to €50 million, of which:

  • €40 million is allocated to finance projects under the Resilience and Livelihoods Programme;
  • €10 million is allocated to support MSMEs under the EU4Business-EBRD credit line with a grant component.

The EBRD assumes 50% of the credit risk, enabling Ukreximbank to significantly expand lending to its clients.

“Deepening cooperation with the EBRD and signing the second tranche of the risk-sharing instrument is an important step in implementing our strategy to support Ukraine’s economic recovery. This decision allows us to significantly expand clients’ access to financing, reduce risks for the bank, and at the same time stimulate lending to businesses in key sectors of the economy.

We particularly value the opportunity to direct a significant portion of the resources toward supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, implementing innovation, and sustainable solutions. In partnership with the EBRD and with the support of the European Union, we continue to develop effective financial instruments that contribute to the recovery, modernization, and long-term resilience of the Ukrainian economy,” said Viktor Ponomarenko, Chairman of the Management Board of Ukreximbank.
