The project with Windcraft Kalanchak LLC, financed by the bank, involving construction of wind power facilities in Kherson region was chosen as  a Deal of the Year in 2019 – Green Trade. This award is presented annually by the EBRD to the banks across the EBRD regions that have achieved the greatest success in financing sustainable energy and continue to work towards the transition to a green economy.

According to the EBRD, with this transaction Ukreximbank has strengthened its sustainable energy position and promoted energy security in Ukraine by reducing reliance on fossil fuels as a result generating energy equivalent to the amount  required  to power 12,000 electric vehicles for over  the year.

"In order to finance the second part of the project, which includes purchase of 21 wind turbines and a transformer sub-station, the state bank has established a credit line with a total limit of UAH 1.6 billion with a final repayment date in 2025. In frames of total limit Ukreximbank has attracted from EBRD  the  amount of 25 million euros for a period of 3 years as financing for  advance payment in favour of a Danish supplier, – said Ievgen METSGER, Ukreximbank Chairman of the Management Board.
