Joint Stock Company “The State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine” (JSC Ukreximbank) joined the creation of the Global Alliance of Energy Efficiency Financing Institutions.
On September, 16–17, 2015, the representatives of the JSC Ukreximbank took part in Energy Efficiency Finance Forum under the auspices of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) in Istanbul, Turkey.
The JSC Ukreximbank joined the creation of the Global Alliance of Energy Efficiency Financing Institutions uniting 70 financial institutions from 20 countries to have adopted a joint declaration on further increase of investments into energy efficiency and renewable energy, thus contributing to environmental protection and decrease of greenhouse gases emission.
At the forum, special attention was paid to Ukreximbank profound expertise in successful implementation of a standard lending product as well as institutional capacity and procedures of the bank, directed to support energy efficient modernization of industrial and agricultural enterprises and renewable energy facilities, based on funds from the domestic market and international investors.
Ukrexim representatives reached arrangements on further technical and advisory cooperation with colleagues within the Alliance as well as on funds deployment from international financial institutions and foreign banks aimed to enhance financial support of mid- and long-term Ukrainian sustainable energy investment projects. Focused on energy saving in production and utilities sectors as well as on the development of renewable solar, water, biomass and wind energy sources, these projects will improve competitiveness of the Ukrainian businesses.
