IFC. Global Trade Finance Programme

In April 2008, the Bank signed an agreement with IFC, pursuant to which the Bank joined to IFC’s Global Trade Finance Programme as a Confirming Bank. The IFC financing allows the Bank to expand its foreign trade operations for private sector businesses in Ukraine by increasing access to finance through different trade instruments that are associated with exports from, or imports to, any of IFC’s emerging market members, that include 170 issuing banks in more than 75 countries worldwide.

In mid-2009, the Bank signed an agreement with the IFC allowing it to act as an Issuing Bank within the IFC’s Global Trade Finance Programme pursuant to which the IFC issues guarantees in respect of the payment obligations issued by the Bank in connection with exports and imports of its customers in favour of Confirming Banks. The IFC provided a USD 40 million trade finance guarantee to the Bank, doubled to USD 80 million in November 2010.
