19 december 2006Standard & Poor’s names Ukreximbank the most transparent bank in UkraineJoint analyses Transparency and Disclosure Survey of Ukrainian Banks in 2006 and Corporate Governance in Ukrainian Banking Sector in 2006 held by Standard & Poor’s international rating agency and Financial Initiatives Agency, Ukraine, resulted in the highest expert appraisal of Joint Stock Company the State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine (the JSC Ukreximbank).
According to Standard & Poor’s, transparency survey of 30 largest Ukrainian banks in terms of net assets was based on the three major sources of public information: banks’ annual reports, corporate web-sites and available information from regulatory authorities – the National Bank of Ukraine and The State Committee for Securities and Stock Market. The research conducted from investors’ viewpoint was carried out in accordance with Standard & Poor’s methodology for evaluation of public companies transparency with no adaptation to local legislative or regulatory environment.
JSC Ukreximbank has demonstrated the highest transparency grade of 62% among the largest Ukrainian banks with average grade of 42%. The analysis was focused on completeness and timeliness of information disclosure on the bank’s owners and corporate structure, financial and operational results, structure and processes in supervisory council and management.
