JBIC and the JSC Ukreximbank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding

Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and the State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine (the JSC Ukreximbank) last night signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for providing first Credit Line to Ukraine to support Japanese exports The MOU providing a bank-to-bank loan totaling up to 50 million US dollars was signed by Kyosuke Shinozawa, JBIC Governor, and Viktor V. Kapustin, Ukreximbank Chairman of the Board, in the presence of President of Ukraine Victor A. Yushchenko. The MOU has pledged mutual cooperation, including exchange of information on candidate projects, with a view to signing a bank-to-bank loan that provides medium- and long-term funds for Ukrainian firms when they import machinery and equipment from Japanese exporters. The parties have also agreed to consider increase of the Credit Line as it is effectively utilized.
